$500.00

WW2 German Army Close Combat Clasp (Nahkampfspange) in Bronze grade. Marker marked on back with the JFS logo (Josef Feix & Sohne) in box on one side of back and marked F.E.C. W.E. Peekhaus Berlin on other side of back. Raised design’s mark “Second Pattern”. Quality zinc-alloy based badge with bronze brennlack type finish still in good condition. Backing plate still present that is sometimes missing on these clasps. Overall, a nice clasp.

Additional Notes: The WW2 German Close Combat Clasp (Nahkampfspange) was a WW2 German military award instituted in November of 1942 for participation in hand-to-hand fighting at close quarters. Intended primarily for infantry, other Wehrmacht, Waffen-SS, ground Luftwaffe units and paratroopers were also eligible. The award was bestowed in three classes: Bronze for 15 close combat actions; Silver for 25 close combat actions; and Gold for 50 close combat actions. The clasp was worn above the upper left uniform pocket, above any medal ribbon bar. Only one badge, the highest level received, was worn.
