United States Dominican Campaign Medal 1916 – United States Marine Corps (USMC). Numbered “738” on edge. Worn condition.

 

Additional Notes: The Dominican Campaign Medal was established to recognize the service of U.S. Navy and Marine Corps personnel who were involved in the 1916 United States invasion of the Dominican Republic. To be awarded this medal, servicemen had to perform active military duty in the Dominican Republic between May 5 and December 4, 1916. The medal was designed by Adolph Alexander Weinman and approved by the United States Commission of Fine Arts in November 1923. It was first awarded on May 5, 1916, and the last award was given on December 4, 1916.
