Reproduction WW2 German Luftwaffe Retired Pilot badge. This is a reproduction badge. Marked on back: JMME&SOHN BERLIN (not a known maker of Luftwaffe Retired Pilot Badges). Plus, details are very flat. The original badges are pretty much impossible to find and very expensive when they show up in the market. This may make a good place holder representation piece. Worn condition. Reproduction badge.

Additional Notes: The WW2 German Luftwaffe Retired Pilot Badge (Luftwaffe Flyer’s Commemorative Badge) was awarded to personnel honorably discharged from their flying duties in the Luftwaffe. Instituted in March of 1936, by the Minister of Aviation and the Commander in Chief of the Luftwaffe, it was given to pilots, observers, air gunners, and paratroopers. The badge features an eagle perched on top of a large rock, surmounted by a wreath of oak leaves. The eagle typically has an oxidized look, while the wreath is usually polished silver. It is estimated that only a small number of these badges were created, and they were awarded only before the outbreak of the war. Typically, these were marker marked C.E. Juncker Berlin.
