AV Constantine the Great Roman Roman Coin. Size approximately 5/8 inches across. Very heavily worn condition.

 

Additional Notes: Constantine the Great, also known as Flavius Valerius Constantinus, was a Roman Emperor who ruled from 307 to 337 AD. He is famous for his conversion to Christianity and for founding the city of Constantinople (modern-day Istanbul). One notable coin from his reign is the “AV Constantine the Great” coin. These coins often feature his laureate head on the obverse and various symbols on the reverse, such as the Roman castle campgate or the Hand of God. The inscription “AV” stands for Augustus.
