U.S. Civil War Tin Type of solider in case. Case in good condition with one small chip on edge. Size of picture is about 2 3/4 inches X 3 1/4 inches.


Additional Notes: The tintype saw the American Civil War come and go, documenting personal photos, soldier pictures, and typical scenery. It also captured scenes from the Wild West. The tintype is a photograph made by creating a direct positive on a thin sheet of metal coated with a dark lacquer or enamel and used as the support for the photographic emulsion. Tintypes enjoyed their greatest use during the 1860s and 1870s.
