U.S. Civil War Union Cavalry Shell Jacket. This jacket is the standard twelve button front issue, trimmed in yellow wool twill, it has the regulation “Pillows” and “V” cut in the back. The collar has the regulation double yellow strips with eagle buttons and is trimmed in yellow. There is no lining left in this one, the inside of the armpit area is stamped with the makers stamping, however, it is very faded and hard to make out. The overall condition of the good is very good for it’s age (over 150 year old), however, there are some small tears and issues.
