United States (U.S.) Navy Officer Dress Blue Jacket with Pants. Rank on the end of sleeve is for a Lieutenant Junior Grade Line Officer. Five gilt navy buttons, missing one top front button (still have loose button, however, needs to be re-attached). Most likely 1940s (ww2) era. Private tailor tag Williams Clothier Harvard Square Cambridge on interior. Zipper front pants, no size tag I could find, however, pants appear to be about 15 inches across (30 inch waist) with about 29 1/2 inch inseam and about 41 inches in overall length. Jacket size approximately 17 inches shoulder to shoulder, about 18 inches armpit to armpit, and about 24 1/2 inches from shoulder to end of sleeve, and about 28 inches length down back. Worn condition.
Additional Notes: The U.S. Navy Officer’s Dress Blue Uniform was a three-piece uniform which included a cap, jacket, and trousers made from various types of wool, such as gabardine and elastique. The double-breasted jacket was fully lined and had six adorning gilt buttons bearing an eagle clutching an anchor. Rank insignia was worn around the lower sleeve.
