WW2 Japanese Combat Bayonet with Frog. Type 30 bayonet with hooked quillon. Marked with the maker logo for Tokyo/Kokura Arsenal. Blade appears to be in overall good condition, it looks to have some type of old oil/chemical protectant on blade. Overall blade length approximately 14 3/4 inches. This one came from local picker that got it from Veterans son out of the Winston-Salem North Carolina area.

 

Additional Notes: The Japanese Type 30 bayonet was a bayonet designed for the Imperial Japanese Army (IJA) to be used with the Arisaka Type 30 Rifle and was later used on the Type 38 and Type 99 rifles and Types 96 and 99 light machine guns. Some 8.4 million were produced, and it remained in front-line use from the Russo-Japanese War to the end of WW2. All Japanese infantrymen were issued with the Type 30, whether they were armed with a rifle or pistol, or even if they were unarmed.
