United States 5th Photo RCN Squadron Mediterranean 1942-43-44-45 Album. The insert section is slide into the larger outer cover. This appears to be a type of picture book slide into the hard cover. Size approximately 11 inches X 8 1/2 inches. Worn condition.

Additional Notes: The 5th Reconnaissance Squadron was part of the 5th Photographic Group during WW2. They were active in the Mediterranean theater from July to September 1943. The squadron was initially based in La Marsa, Tunisia, and later moved to San Severo, Italy. They played a crucial role in providing reconnaissance for road and rail targets to support the US Fifth and British Eighth Army in southern Italy.
