Additional Notes: The American Gold Eagle coin has a fascinating history, It was first introduced in 1986 under the Gold Bullion Coin Act of 1985, which authorized the U.S. Mint to produce gold bullion coins. The gold used for these coins must come from natural deposits within the United States. The obverse design features Lady Liberty, created by renowned sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens. This design originally appeared on the $20 gold coin commissioned by President Theodore Roosevelt in the early 1900s. The reverse design, from 1986 to 2021, depicted a family of eagles, symbolizing unity and tradition. In 2021, the reverse was updated to feature a side profile of a bald eagle. These coins are made of 22-karat gold, alloyed with silver and copper for durability. They are available in various sizes, including 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz.
