WW2 German NSKK Chained Dagger . D2040

WW2 German NSKK Chained Service Dagger. Dagger blade is marker with the logo for Ernst Pack & Sohne Solingen on one side and acid etched “Alles für Deutschland” (Everything for Germany) motto on other side. Blade is in good overall condition with typical in-and-out marks. Hardwood handle in good condition. Gruppe marked on back of lower fitting “Wf” (for Westfalen). Nickel-silver eagle insert in good condition. The NSKK steel-based chain has a lot of wear and patina with a good portion of the plating worn away and is also nicely marked NSKK Musterschutz Korpsfhrung. The NSKK chain has 4 upper links and 5 lower links. The designs on these links alternate between open-winged NSKK eagles and sun wheel swazs. Appears this most likely an upgraded chained dagger (earlier dagger with later chained scabbard). Overall a good example of a Chained NSKK dagger with a nice worn display look.
