Early WW2 German Soldier Bust. Soldier wearing an Army double decal transitional helmet. Appears to be a plated or bronzed spelter or zinc-alloy type metal. A lot of wear and damage to plating showing large areas of the zinc alloy metal below. Also, has a lot of corrosion type damage. Marker marked HB on back of bust. Size approximately 9 inches in height. Worn condition.

 

Additional Notes: Spelter is a zinc–lead alloy that ages to resemble bronze but is softer and has a lower melting point. The name can also refer to a copper–zinc alloy (a brass) used for brazing, or to pure zinc.
