WW2 German Red Cross (DRK) Donation Tin. White painted steel construction with slots for coins and an area for inserting paper bills (“Papier” or “Geld”). Maker stamped on the bottom – M. Westermann & Co. G.H.B.H. WESCO Neheim-Ruhr with the number “11” painted as well. Size approximately 6 3/4 inches high x 3 1/4 inches wide.  Worn condition.

 

Additional Notes: The WW2 German Red Cross (Deutsches Rotes Kreuz or DRK) played a significant role during WW2, and donation tins were commonly used to collect funds for their activities. These tins were often marked with the Red Cross emblem and sometimes featured slogans or imagery related to the war effort.
