Additional Notes: The WW2 USMC M3 Colt 1911 .45 Shoulder Holster by BOYT is a leather shoulder holster that was standard issue for aircraft and tank crews and was often used by officers who preferred it to the hip holster. It was adopted in 1942 and saw extensive use throughout the war. The M3 holster was made from high-quality leather, which typically ages nicely, often darkening to a russet brown color due to exposure to oil, dirt, and sweat. It typically features brass snaps and buckles and is embossed with “U.S.” to indicate military issue.
