United States Dax Advertising Clock – The Grosser Knitting Machine Co New York. Looks like some type of desktop paperweight type clock. On clock face center is the word “Dax” and on bottom of face is “Made in U.S.A.”. On back of clock housing on brass name plate with the info of: The Grosser Knitting Machine Co, MAX NYDEGGER, 260 West Broadway, New York. Appears to be a nickel-plated brass-based housing. Selling as-is, cannot guarantee any type of accurate working condition of clock functionality, selling as display piece. Most likely 1920s-1940s era. Worn condition.

The Grosser Knitting Machine Company was owned by Paul Grosser of Germany, manufacturing in New York area due to high tariffs.
The trademark DAX was issued to Western Clock Co. on April 20, 1915. The registration contains the statement “The trade mark has been continuously used in the business of said corporation since the month of May, 1910.” Westclox was the largest manufacturer of alarm clocks in the world from 1920 to 1980.
