United States WW2 J-Hook ID Tag (Dog Tag) Chain. This chain is non-magnetic and has tarnish typical of silver, I believe this is one of the private purchase silver versions. Worn condition.

Additional Notes: The WW2 J-Hook ID chain is typically unmarked. From 1940 to 1943, this type of chain with “sister hooks” or “J hooks” was issued to military personnel. Military issue was stainless steel, but many individuals chose to buy silver versions from other sources. These were replaced by the beaded chains after 1944.
