American Small Vintage 48 Star Printed Arm Flag. I believe this type was used by US Soldiers for attaching to sleeves or other uniform areas during invasion of Europe. Size approximately 7 inches x 5 inches. I believe this is known as the larger 2nd type invasion printed arm flag with hemmed edge. Worn condition with small tear in center area where it was most likely folded. Came in with a group of ww2 GI items, would work well for a US ww2 display.
Additional Notes: The American 48-star flag was flown from July 1912 to July 1949. In 1912, 2 stars were added to the 46-star flag, with the added stars representing the states of Arizona and New Mexico, bringing the total number of stars to 48. The stars are arranged in six rows of eight stars each. There were thirteen stripes representing the thirteen original colonies.
