Additional Notes: The Meal, Combat, Individual (MCI), specifically the Beefsteak and Potatoes with Gravy B-2 Unit, was part of the U.S. military’s rations issued from 1958 to 1980. This particular meal included beef slices and potatoes in gravy, along with a B-2 unit which typically contained crackers and a cocoa beverage powder. These rations were designed to be nutritionally balanced and could be eaten hot or cold, making them suitable for combat situations. The MCI was eventually replaced by the Meal, Ready-to-Eat (MRE) in the early 1980s.
