WW2 German Der Ahnempass (ancestor pass). Several entries in passbook. Size approximately 8 inches x 5 1/2 inches. Worn condition.

 

Additional Notes: The Ahnenpass (ancestor pass) was a document used in WW2 Germany to prove Aryan ancestry. It was part of the Aryan certificate (Ariernachweis) and was issued by the Reich Association of Marriage Registrars in Germany. The document required individuals to trace their lineage back at least four generations to demonstrate they were of “German blood”. The Ahnenpass could also be issued to citizens of other countries if they were of “German blood”. The booklet contained sections where family histories were documented and officially stamped.
