SOLD WW2 Luftwaffe Paratrooper Badge – JMME . GO5102

WW2 German Luftwaffe Paratrooper badge. Marker marked on back: JMME & Sohn Berlin. Made from high quality material with the eagle die-struck from brass and the wreath from nickel silver. This badge is listed as the IMME (JMME) Type D (Fletchless Wing Type) in the excellent book on The German Luftwaffe & Heer Paratrooper Badges of World War II 1936-1945 by Thomas M. Durante. This actually appears to be the exact badge that is pictured in the book. Very nice finish on this badge and overall, a very nice badge that appears to be the actual badge pictured in the WW2 German Paratrooper Badge book.

Additional Notes: The WW2 German Luftwaffe Paratrooper badge, also known as the Fallschirmjäger badge, was awarded to paratroopers of the German Air Force during WW2. Instituted in November of 1936, it was a badge recognizing the bravery and skill of airborne troops.
