SOLD WW2 German 1st Class Iron Cross Spange L/11 . GO6153cxcc

WW2 German Spange to the Iron Cross 1st class. Marker marked on back L/11 for the marker of Wilhelm Deumer. Instead of the L/11 mark being in the typical box centered, this mark is offset and just marked L/11 with no surrounding box. Tombak based. Block-barrel hinge with round needle-type pin with top portion of pin wrapped around the hinge pin and catch is made of square wire which is soldered directly to the reverse side of spange. Spange in very nice condition and would display well.

Additional Notes: The WW2 German 1939 Iron Cross 1st Class Spange (Spange zum Eisernen Kreuz 1. Klasse) was awarded during WW2 to individuals who had previously received the Iron Cross 1st Class in WW1 and were awarded the Iron Cross 1st Class again in WW2. The 1939 Iron Cross Spange featured an eagle clutching an oak leaf wreath surrounding a swaz, and the year “1939” beneath it. It was worn directly on the uniform above the ww1 1914 Iron Cross 1st Class.
