SOLDfm WW2 German Iron Cross Spange 2nd Class . GO6155cxcc

$220.00

WW2 German Spange to the 1939 Iron Cross 2nd class. This variation although unmarked is attributed to the marker of Ziemer & Sohne Oberstien. These have the flat cut prongs and the extremely pointed nose of the “1” in the 1939 date. The eagles beak on these are also very narrow and sharp. All both prongs still on back. Buntmetall based badge on piece of ww1 cross ribbon. Worn condition.

Additional Notes: The WW2 German 1939 Iron Cross 2nd Class Spange was a clasp awarded to those who had already received the Iron Cross during WW1 and were awarded it again in WW2. The clasp featured an eagle clutching an oak leaf wreath encircling a swaz, with the year “1939” displayed below. The 1939 spange was typically made from Tombak or zinc and sometimes had a polished finish. The clasp was affixed to the ribbon of the WW1 1914 Iron Cross.
