US Navy Garrison Cap CDR . HU1250

United States Navy Officer Khaki (Tan) Tropical Garrison Cap. US Navy Officer insignia pinned on one side of cap. Commander (CDR) rank insignia pinned on the other side of cap. No size or contract tags I could find on this cap, however, appears to be about a size 7 1/8 using a cap sizing tool. Also, has initials on interior of cap “W J O”. 1940s-1950 (WW2 – Korea) era. Worn condition with some staining.

Additional Notes: During WW2 Navy garrison caps were produced in all of the standard uniform colors including dark blue, khaki (tropical tan), forest green, gray, and white. There were also many variations in fabrics. For example, garrison caps for the working khaki and gray uniforms were made in both cotton and wool.
