Imperial Japanese Army (IJA) Artillery Sword. Wood grip variation with Iron fittings. The Japanese artillery sword was issued to artillerymen and artillery gunners. The blade has a single wide fuller on one side, however, is un-fullered on the other side. Machine made blade with kanji on the blade ricasso that has information on the arsenal mark and date. Blade in decent overall shape. Blade length about 20 7/8 inches, overall length about 25 7/8 inches. The sheath is very heavily worn and missing the metal drag end. Also, the top pommel cap is twisted a bit and the wood grips have a little wiggle to them. Worn condition.
