United States Texas Knights Templar Masonic Lodge Ceremonial Sword. Marker marked on blade ricasso is The McLilly Co Columbus Ohio. This blade maker logo design was utilized typically in the late 1800s (about 1874-1882). Double engraved blade with various scenes of the Knights Templar and with skull and cross bones with words Memento Mori or “remember you must die.”, that serves as a reminder of death and mortality. Name engraved appears to be “John Sumner Dicklow” on etching panel on one side of blade. The scabbard is ornate with several Templar insignia on scabbard. Handle has basic black handle grip with cross, appears that the cross insignia in grip in missing. Blade length is approximately 28 inches. Worn condition.
