United States 21st (XXI) Army Corps shoulder sleeve insignia (patch). The patch is fully embroidered with a snowy back. Worn condition. Most likely 1940s (WW2) era. The patch does not react to UV light (does not glow under blacklight).
Additional Notes: The 21st (XXI) Corps was a corps of the U.S. Army during WW2. It was activated in December of 1943 at Camp Polk, Louisiana. The XXI Corps fought for 116 days in the European Theater of Operations, starting in the Alsace, crossing into southern Germany, and swarming into Austria, with individual elements reaching into northern Italy. The corps was commanded in combat by Major General Frank W. Milburn as a subordinate unit of the Seventh U.S. Army.
