SOLD Imperial Russian WW1 M-15 Adrian Helmet . WMR4002cxck

Imperial Russian WW1 M-15 Adrian Helmet. Proper mustard color inside and out. Correct double headed Russian eagle badge (steel, magnet will stick to badge). Late war second pattern French liner (2-piece liner) which is in very worn condition. These helmets were supplied by France to Russia in 1917. Worn condition.

Additional Notes:  Known research shows in 1915 France supplied Russian troops fighting along side French troops on the north-western front with early Mustard color helmets. These would naturally have 1st pattern 1-piece liners. (many of these early helmets were also of a mustard color Russian badge on the original horizon blue French Adrian). Two years later in 1917 France manufactured and sent the last batch of helmets (well over 1 million) direct to Russia for Eastern front use. By 1917 the 2nd pattern 2-piece liner was naturally in use. These are the 2 known issues of the French manufactured Russian Adrian helmet of WW1. The early first issue is definitely rarer I would say as 1-piece liners are rarer than 2-piece liners in all M1915 Adrian helmets, (early war vs late war). There is minor speculation that only 1-piece liners are correct but that would not be the case for the late war 1917 shipment. This helmet is of the last late war batch sent by France to Russia.
